Visiting Madam Stoltz on Beautiful Bornholm

Posted by

We first discovered Madam Stoltz back in early 2012. From the first contact, we felt their natural friendliness, loved their unique homewares range and couldn't believe that they ran their business from the gorgeous island of Bornholm, about 200km off the coast of Copenhagen. After discovering this brand and the quiet Danish paradise they lived in, I was determined to visit.

Baby in tow at 6 months old, we headed there in June 2014. We met with Peter and Pernille, owners of Madam Stoltz, visited their home, shopfront, warehouse and showroom. Much more personal than how you would usually connect with a European business.

Loving every minute of our five days on the island, we set off to explore what it's famous for. Rugged coastline, quaint villages set amongst steep and windy roads, friendly people and good food. We experienced the best food of anywhere we have visited throughout Europe! Didn't matter if it was a take away kiosk or expensive restaurant Bornholm has mastered good food and it's something they're proud of.

Here are some snaps of our journey. If you ever visit Denmark and have the time to explore Bornholm, you won't be disappointed. And be sure to stop in at Madam Stoltz and tell them we sent you!
